Experience the Authentic Puri-Style “Chappan Bhog” – Pure Ghee Fried, Crunchy & Delicious
Experience a taste of the divine with our Traditional Puri-Style Khaja. Known as a favourite offering in the Chappan Bhog of Lord Jagannath, this iconic Odiya-style sweet is a masterpiece of texture and geometry. Crafted with precision in Kolkata, our Khaja combines the architectural brilliance of the Puri original with the refined sweet-making expertise of Bengal.
Every piece of our Khaja is Pure Ghee Fried, resulting in a golden-brown, multi-layered pastry that is incredibly crispy and crunchy. Coated in a light, glistening sugar glaze, it offers a satisfying snap with every bite. We take pride in delivering this artisanal treasure Directly from Kolkata to All Over India, ensuring it reaches you fresh, intact, and ready to be savoured.
What makes our Puri-Style Khaja so special? It’s all in the layers. Creating Khaja is an intricate process that requires a master’s hand:
-
The “Purdar” (Layered) Secret: We prepare paper-thin sheets of refined flour, which are then meticulously layered one on top of the other. When fried, these layers separate slightly, creating the iconic “book-leaf” structure that holds its crunchy texture.
-
Deep-Fried in Pure Ghee: For that authentic, rich flavor, we fry the Khaja in Pure Desi Ghee. This not only gives it a beautiful nutty aroma but also ensures a superior “moyen” (flakiness) that oil-fried versions simply cannot match.
-
The Perfect Glaze: Once fried to a pale gold, the Khaja is dipped in a warm sugar syrup. It isn’t soaked like a Rasgulla; instead, it receives a delicate coating that hardens into a thin, sweet crust, keeping the interior crispy.
-
Handmade & Traditional: No machines here. Every roll is sliced and shaped by hand to ensure the traditional oblong form that has been served in temples for centuries.
